In this playful, hands-on workshop with OOLAH Studio, kids will use a collection of pre-cut geometric blocks to arrange shapes and choose colours, hand block printing their own unique pattern designs. The focus is on process and experimentation rather than getting it "right" - printing shapes however feels good. Kids can print their favourite pattern onto a bookmark or greeting card as a special keepsake to take home. Designed to be open and welcoming for all children, whatever their experience with art, Pattern Play is all about curiosity, hands-on exploration and self-expression. No experience needed, just an imagination!

ABOUT OOLAH STUDIO
OOLAH Studio is the creative practice of Central Coast artist and maker Rachel Grimes-Carmichael, working across hand block printing, pattern, colour and textiles. Inspired by simple geometric shapes, Rachel creates playful patterns and colourful hand-printed textiles, embracing the slow, tactile process of carving, experimenting and printing by hand.

Rachel also runs creative workshops for both adults and children, designed to be relaxed, welcoming and playful. Her workshops invite participants to get curious, embrace imperfection and explore the joy of making.
